Instructions for Authors

The journal accepts for consideration materials that have not been published before, are not currently submitted for publication in other periodicals

The articles are published in Ukrainian or English, with summaries in both languages for each article.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The author must adhere to the Filosofska dumka (Philosophical Thought) journal 's editorial policy.

Surname, first name, and patronymic of the academician or corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine who submitted the article

Abstract in Ukrainian (1,000 characters including punctuation and spaces) with the article title, the authors’ names, their place of work, and keywords (up to 7 words).

Abstract in  English (1,800 characters including punctuation and spaces)

A  scientific article should not be more than 30, 000 characters including punctuation and spaces

The article should include information about each author: surname, name, email address, academic degree, academic title, and position.

Journal accepts structured articles for publication, in which the material is presented consecutively in the form of logically connected sections, for example, the introduction, including the formulation and provision of a rationale for the research objectivedescription of the objects and methods of research, presentation of the original data (results and their discussion), conclusions. It is recommended to place Acknowledgements before the references and to indicate information about the sources of research funding (grants, programs, scheduled subjects, etc., indicate the title, deadlines, and number/code). Self-citation should not exceed 10% of the volume of sources.

The abstract should be structured so that readers can get a foretaste of the subject matter and the obtained results without referring to the full text. The abstract must be structured (rubrication as in an article is possible) and reflect the basic information about the objects, purpose, research methods, results, and conclusions.

Formatting. The text should be in MS Word (.doc), 14-point Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing between lines, on an A4 page. All borders are 20 mm.

Foreign surnames and place names in Ukrainian texts should be given in the language of the article and additionally in English in parentheses after their first mention in the text.

One should use Times New Roman font (size 8—10 pt.) for tables and their titles. Notes should be placed straight under the tables.

Illustrations should be attached to the electronic copy as a separate file in JPGTIFF, and CDR formats with a resolution of 300 dpi for halftone figures and 600 dpi for drawing in lines.

In-text citations and references in Ukrainian should be made according to the DSTU 8302;2015 standard, and references in English according to the APA international standardReferences (in the original language) and References (in English) are put together in the order of reference in the text. The description of an article published in the journal should contain the assigned digital object identifier (doi).

References to unpublished sources (reports, archival materials, dissertations that are not available on the Internet) should be indicated in the text in parentheses (author’s name, year) with an asterisk (*) to place the full name of the source at the bottom of the page, in footnotes.

The article is registered with the editorial office only if the rules for authors are observed. In case of significant revision of the article, the date received is the date of the corrected version submission.

In case of manuscript rejection, the editorial board sends the author a rejection slinky.

 

The authors of the manuscript are responsible for the actual content of the materials, the accuracy of bibliographic references, citations, figures (tables, formulas, etc.), the spelling of place names and proper names, and ORCID.
