Популізм з погляду політичної філософії

Статтю присвячено популізму як об’єкту дослідження політичної теорії. В центрі уваги дослідження дебати, що йдуть навколо визначення того, що таке популізм. В статті ро- биться огляд різних підходів до вивчення популізму — зокрема, ідеологічного і дискурсивного. Автор також аналізує популізм з точки зору нормативної теорії демократії і обговорює питання, чи є популізм загрозою чи корекцією ліберальної демократії. Окремо розглядається проблема визначення «народу» як центрального популістського концепту і робиться висно- вок про істотний перетин націоналістичного і популістського дискурсів, які неможливо ціл- ковито відокремити один від одного.
В статті наводяться аргументи на користь дискурсивного підходу до популізму. Голов- ною характерною рисою популізму визначається домагання говорити і діяти в ім’я народу. Популізм вписаний в представницьку демократію як її постійна можливість, і спирається на вимогу демократичної легітимності, що є базовою нормативною вимогою у сучасних су- спільствах. Також аргументується, що має сенс розглядати популізм не як сутнісну харак- теристику політичного суб’єкта (партії, руху, лідера, режиму), який або є, або не є популіст- ським, а з точки зору широти застосування популістського репертуару, комбінації елемен- тів і їхньої спрямованості.
