Abstract

Pavlo Kopnin had played a significant role in the methodological, ideological and organizational turn which took place in H.S. Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy since late 1950-s till late 1980-s. Due to his efforts the transition from Marxist-Leninist approach to modern methodologies had become possible. He succeeded to legitimize new vectors of research, which were tabooed during the Soviet period: sociology and social philosophy, social psychology, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of culture, studies of religion ets. A number of relevant departments were created. All this provided conditions for displacement of pseudophilosophic subjects and methods of Soviet era by modern topics and approaches
